Voleer Updates Announced During Microsoft Ignite

Join the BitTitan Ignite Digital Booth, September 22-25

We have some exciting news for you at our upcoming digital booth during Microsoft Ignite! One of our most popular automations has been the Microsoft Teams Assessment. This isn’t surprising considering Teams usage grew by almost 900% from February to June this year. While the growth in Teams usage is expected given the increase in remote work, and overall good for collaboration, it does bring new challenges for IT teams. Monitoring your Teams environment for security threats, assessing user adoption, and managing sprawl are just a few of the responsibilities that come with the rise of Teams. The new Voleer Teams Toolkit is being introduced to help you better monitor and manage you or your customers’ Teams environment. We are also introducing a new automation for Microsoft Azure, Private Publishing and dataset features in Voleer.

Since July, our Teams Assessment and Teams Channel Copy automations have already been used by many IT managers to complete these tasks. The Teams Assessment provides a comprehensive view of metrics such as Teams activity, guest users, sizes, disabled owners accounts, channels with similar names and top 5 channels by total file size. All this data is collated into a single file for easy viewing. The Teams Channel Copy automation allows you to move files and conversations into an existing or new channel for ease of management. Currently this isn’t possible natively, even though a request for this feature had over 23,000 votes on the Microsoft support forum. Since we saw how useful this would be, we built a tool to meet this requirement.

Next week at our digital booth during Ignite, we are excited to announce three new automations to the Voleer Template Library; two new automations to make Microsoft Teams management simpler for all IT managers, and another tool for Azure. First, we have built our Microsoft Teams Archive automation which helps you manage teams or channels that you don’t need anymore, but are still taking up space in your environment. When you run this tool it will archive all the data by converting each channel into a read-only file and export all files into a compressed format. This way you can store the data, but clear up your Teams storage and search interface for your users.

Secondly, we are launching the Microsoft Teams User Adoption Dashboard which is designed to let you easily monitor Teams usage throughout your organization. The dashboard provides visualized data on number of messages, calls, and meetings over any period you choose. You can see this data for your entire company, by department, team, job title, and even by individual user. With this tool you’ll easily be able to ensure your business is getting the most out of Teams and collaborating effectively.

The third new automation is the new Azure Resource Move Pre-validation template, which provides a simple way for you to validate if Azure resources can be moved to a new or different subscription. This helps you plan the migration and mitigate any errors before the move operation is executed. Lastly, we are announcing Voleer updates including Private Publishing and datasets. Private Publishing is the ability to build your own automations that are stored in your Voleer tenant, so you can keep your IP in a secure workspace. Dataset templates create a data warehouse in Voleer that can create visualizations and used for additional automations that can access the data in the dataset and take action based on queries. The dataset can be refreshed on a schedule so that automation templates can monitor data for specific conditions and trigger alerts.

Contact our team for demos of both these tools, plus other of our out-of-the-box automations like the Office 365 Toolkit, and learn about how you can work with Voleer to build custom tools to meet your exact automation needs.
